Sahih al-Bukhari, 2642

Rapporté par Anas : Un cortège funéraire est passé devant le Prophète (ﷺ) et les gens ont fait l’éloge du défunt. Le Prophète (ﷺ) a dit : « C’est confirmé (le Paradis). » Un autre cortège est passé et les gens ont parlé en mal du défunt. Le Prophète (ﷺ) a dit : « C’est confirmé (l’Enfer). » On a demandé au Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) : « Ô Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ! Tu as dit que c’était confirmé pour les deux ? » Le Prophète (ﷺ) a dit : « Le témoignage des gens est accepté, car les croyants sont les témoins d’Allah sur terre. »

Narrated Anas:A funeral procession passed in front of the Prophet (ﷺ) and the people praised the deceased. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "It has been affirmed (Paradise)." Then another funeral procession passed by and the people talked badly of the deceased. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "It has been affirmed (Hell)." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was asked, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! You said it has been affirmed for both?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The testimony of the people (is accepted), (for) the believers are Allah's witnesses on the earth
