Retiring to a Mosque for Remembrance of Allah (I'tikaf)

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ أَنَّ عُمَرَ، سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ كُنْتُ نَذَرْتُ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ أَنْ أَعْتَكِفَ لَيْلَةً فِي الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ، قَالَ ‏ "‏ فَأَوْفِ بِنَذْرِكَ ‏"‏‏.‏

Rapporté par Ibn `Umar : `Umar a demandé au Prophète (ﷺ) : « J’ai fait le vœu, à l’époque de l’ignorance, de faire une nuit d’I`tikaf à Al-Masjid al-Haram. » Le Prophète (ﷺ) lui a dit : « Accomplis ton vœu. »
