Sunan Abi Dawud, 605

‘A’ishah رضي الله عنها a dit : Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ a prié chez lui assis, et les gens priaient derrière lui debout. Il leur a fait signe (pour leur demander) de s’asseoir. Quand il a terminé la prière, il a dit : « L’imam n’est là que pour être suivi ; donc quand il prie debout, priez debout ; et quand il se redresse, redressez-vous ; et quand il prie assis, priez assis. »

‘A’ishah said; The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prayed in his house sitting and the people prayed behind him standing. He made a sign to them (asking them) to sit down. When he finished the prayer, he said :The IMAM is appointed only to be followed; so when he prays standing. Pray standing ; and when he raises himself, raise yourself: and when he prays sitting.
