Sunan Abi Dawud, 4813

Rapporté par Jabir ibn Abdullah : Le Prophète ﷺ a dit : « Si quelqu’un reçoit quelque chose, il doit donner quelque chose en retour s’il en a les moyens ; s’il ne peut pas, qu’il le remercie. Celui qui le remercie pour cela l’a vraiment remercié, et celui qui le cache est ingrat envers lui. » Abu Dawud a dit : Ce hadith a été transmis par Yahya b. Ayyub, de `Umarah b. Ghaziyyah, de Sharahbil, d’après Jabir. Abu Dawud a ajouté : Dans la chaîne de transmission, `Umarah b. Ghaziyyah a dit : « Un homme de ma tribu a dit. » Cet homme est Sharahbil. Il est probable qu’ils ne l’appréciaient pas et c’est pourquoi ils ne l’ont pas nommé

Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: If someone is given something, he should give a return for it provided he can afford; if he cannot afford, he should praise him. He who praises him for it, thanks him, and he who conceals it is ungrateful to him. Abu Dawud said: It has been transmitted by Yahya b. Ayyub, from `Umarah b. Ghaziyyah, from Sharahbil on the authority of Jabir. Abu Dawud said: In the chain of this tradition `Umarah b. Ghaziyyah said: A man from my tribe said. The man referred by him is Sharahbil. It is likely that they disliked him and, therefore, they did not name him
