Sunan Abi Dawud, 4805

Rapporté par Abu Bakrah : Quand un homme a fait l’éloge d’un autre en sa présence devant le Prophète ﷺ, il a dit : « Tu as décapité ton ami » (il l’a répété trois fois). Puis il a ajouté : « Celui qui ne peut s’empêcher de faire l’éloge de son compagnon, qu’il dise : “Je le considère comme ceci ou cela”, mais je ne le déclare pas pur auprès d’Allah. »

Abu Bakrah said that when a man praised another man in his face in the presence of the Prophet (ﷺ) said :You have beheaded your friend (saying it three times). He then said : One who cannot help expressing praise of his companion, should say : I consider him such and such (as he intends to say), but I do not declare him pure with Allah
