Sunan Abi Dawud, 4149

Rapporté par Abdullah ibn Umar : Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ est venu chez Fatimah et a trouvé un rideau suspendu à sa porte, alors il n’est pas entré. Chaque fois qu’il entrait (dans la maison), il allait d’abord la voir. Puis Ali est venu et a vu que Fatimah était peinée. Il lui a demandé : « Qu’as-tu ? » Elle a répondu : « Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ est venu me voir mais n’est pas entré (dans la maison). » Ali est alors allé le voir et lui a dit : « Messager d’Allah, Fatimah a été peinée que tu sois venu la voir sans entrer. » Il a répondu : « Qu’ai-je à faire de ce bas-monde ? Qu’ai-je à faire des motifs et des dessins (sur le rideau) ? » (Ali) est alors allé voir Fatimah et lui a rapporté ce que le Messager d’Allah ﷺ avait dit. Elle a dit : « Demande au Messager d’Allah ﷺ ce qu’il veut que je fasse à ce sujet. » Le Prophète a dit : « Dis-lui de l’envoyer à untel. »

Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came to Fatimah and found a curtain hanging at her door, so he did not enter. Whenever he entered (the house), he would visit her first. Then Ali came and found that Fatimah was grieved. He asked: What is the matter with you? She replied: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came to me but did not enter (the house). Ali then came to him and said: Messenger of Allah, Fatimah felt it keenly that you came to visit her but did not go in. He replied: What have I to do with this world? What have I to do with prints and figures (on the curtain)? He (Ali) then went to Fatimah and informed her of what the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) had said. She said: Ask the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) what he me to do about it. He (the Prophet) said: Tell her that she must send it to so-and-so
