حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ الأَحْوَلُ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ، قَالَ كَتَبَ عُمَرُ إِلَى عُتْبَةَ بْنِ فَرْقَدٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم نَهَى عَنِ الْحَرِيرِ إِلاَّ مَا كَانَ هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا أُصْبُعَيْنِ وَثَلاَثَةً وَأَرْبَعَةً ‏.‏

Rapporté par Abu ‘Uthman al-Nahdi رضي الله عنه : ‘Umar a écrit à ‘Utbah ibn Farqad que le Prophète ﷺ avait interdit (de porter) la soie sauf pour untel, untel, jusqu’à deux, trois ou quatre doigts de largeur
