Sunan Abi Dawud, 4020

Rapporté par Abu Sa’id al-Khudri رضي الله عنه : Quand le Messager d’Allah ﷺ mettait un vêtement neuf, il le nommait (turban ou chemise), puis disait : « Ô Allah, à Toi la louange ! Comme Tu m’as habillé de ce vêtement, je Te demande le bien de ce vêtement et le bien de ce pour quoi il a été fabriqué, et je cherche refuge auprès de Toi contre le mal de ce vêtement et le mal de ce pour quoi il a été fabriqué. » Abu Nadrah a dit : Quand l’un des compagnons du Prophète ﷺ mettait un vêtement neuf, on lui disait : « Puisse-tu l’user et qu’Allah t’en donne un autre à la place. »

Narrated AbuSa'id al-Khudri: When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) put on a new garment he mentioned it by name, turban or shirt, and would then say: O Allah, praise be to Thee! as Thou hast clothed me with it, I ask Thee for its good and the good of that for which it was made, and I seek refuge in Thee from its evil and the evil of that for which it was made. Abu Nadrah said: When any of the Companions of the Prophet (ﷺ) put on a new garment, he was told: May you wear it out and may Allah give you another in its place
