Sunan Abi Dawud, 3900

Rapporté par Abu Sa’d al-Khudri رضي الله عنه : Des Compagnons du Prophète ﷺ sont partis en voyage. Ils se sont arrêtés chez une tribu arabe. Quelqu’un a dit : « Notre chef a été piqué par un scorpion ou mordu par un serpent. L’un de vous a-t-il quelque chose pour le soulager ? » Un homme du groupe a dit : « Oui, par Allah, je vais faire une incantation ; mais nous vous avons demandé l’hospitalité et vous nous l’avez refusée. Je ne ferai rien tant que vous ne me donnerez pas une récompense. » Ils lui ont promis des moutons. Il est venu, a récité la sourate al-Fatiha sur le malade et a soufflé jusqu’à ce qu’il soit guéri, comme s’il était libéré de ses liens. Ils lui ont donné la récompense convenue. Ils ont dit : « Partage-les. » Celui qui avait fait l’incantation a dit : « Ne le faites pas avant que nous consultions l’Envoyé d’Allah ﷺ. » Le Prophète ﷺ a dit : « D’où as-tu appris que c’était une incantation ? Tu as bien fait. Partagez-les, et donnez-m’en une part avec vous. »

Abu Sa’d al-KHudri said :Some of the Companions of the Prophet (ﷺ) went on a journey. They alighted with a certain clan of the Arabs. Someone of them said : Our chief has been stung by a scorpion or bitten by a snake. Has any of you something which gives relief to our chief? A man of the people said : Yes, I swear by Allah. I shall apply charm ; but we asked you for hospitality and you denied it to us. I shall not apply charm until you give me some payment. So they promised to give some sheep to him. He came to him and recited Surat al-Fatihah over him and spat till he was cured, and ha seemed as if he were set free from a bond. So they gave him the payment that was agreed between them. They said : Apportion them. The man who applied charm said : Do not do it until we approach the Apostle of allah (ﷺ) said: From where did you learn that it was a charm ? you have done right. Apportion them, and give me a share along with you
