Sunan Abi Dawud, 3420

Kharijah b. al-Salt a rapporté que son oncle paternel a dit qu’il est passé près d’un clan arabe qui lui a dit : « Tu as apporté du bien de la part de cet homme. » Ils ont alors amené un homme fou, enchaîné. Il a récité la sourate al-Fatiha sur lui pendant trois jours, matin et soir. Quand il a terminé, il a recueilli sa salive puis l’a recrachée, (l’homme a été soulagé) comme s’il était libéré d’un lien. Ils lui ont donné quelque chose en récompense. Il est ensuite allé voir le Prophète ﷺ et lui a raconté ce qui s’était passé. Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ a dit : « Accepte-la, car par ma vie, certains l’acceptent pour un charme sans valeur, mais toi tu l’as fait pour un vrai charme. »

Kharijah b. al-Salt quoted his paternal uncle as saying that he passed by a clan (of the Arab) who came to him and said:You have brought what is good from this man. Then they brought a lunatic in chains. He recited Surat al-Fatihah over him three days, morning and evening. When he finished, he collected his saliva and then spat it out, (he felt relief) as if he were set free from a bond. They gave him something (as wages). He then came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and mentioned it to him. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Accept it, for by my life, some accept it for a worthless charm, but you have done so far a genuine one
