Sunan Abi Dawud, 2126

Rapporté par Muhammad ibn Abdur Rahman ibn Thawban, d’après un homme parmi les Compagnons du Prophète ﷺ : Lorsque Ali رضي الله عنه épousa Fatimah, la fille du Messager d’Allah ﷺ, il voulut avoir des rapports avec elle. Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ lui interdit de le faire avant de lui donner quelque chose. Ali رضي الله عنه dit : « Je n’ai rien avec moi, Messager d’Allah. » Le Prophète ﷺ dit : « Donne-lui ta cotte de mailles. » Il lui donna donc sa cotte de mailles, puis il put vivre avec elle

Muhammad ibn Abdur Rahman ibn Thawban reported on the authority of a man from the Companions of the Prophet (ﷺ):When Ali married Fatimah, daughter of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), he intended to have intercourse with her. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prohibited him to do so until he gave her something. Ali said: I have nothing with me, Messenger of Allah. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: Give her your coat of mail. So he gave her his coat of mail, and then cohabited with her
