Sunan Abi Dawud, 2031

Rapporté par Shaibah bin ‘Uthman : ‘Umar ibn Al Khattab était assis à l’endroit où tu es assis. Il a dit : « Je ne sortirai pas avant d’avoir distribué les biens de la Ka’bah. » J’ai dit : « Tu ne le feras pas. » Il a demandé : « Pourquoi ? » J’ai répondu : « Car le Messager d’Allah ﷺ et Abu Bakr ont vu cet endroit et ils avaient plus besoin de ces biens que toi, mais ils ne les ont pas pris. » Alors ‘Umar s’est levé et est sorti

Shaibah bin ‘Uthman said “‘Umar bin Al Khattab was sitting in the place where you are sitting. He said I shall not go out until I distribute the property of The Ka’bah. I said “You will not do it.” He asked “Why?” I said “For the Apostle of Allaah(ﷺ) and Abu Bakr had seen its place and they were more in need of the property than you, but they did not take it out. He (‘Umar) stood up and went out.”
