Sunan Abi Dawud, 2021

Bakr bin ‘Abd Allah a dit : Un homme a demandé à Ibn ‘Abbas رضي الله عنه : « Qu’en est-il des gens de cette Maison ? Ils offrent du nabidh au public alors que leurs cousins donnent du lait, du miel et du mush (sawiq). Est-ce par avarice ou par besoin ? » Ibn ‘Abbas a répondu : « Ce n’est ni par avarice ni par besoin, mais l’Envoyé d’Allah ﷺ est venu chez nous sur sa monture, et Usamah bin Zaid était assis derrière lui. L’Envoyé d’Allah ﷺ a demandé à boire. On lui a apporté du nabidh, il en a bu et en a donné le reste à Usamah bin Zaid, qui en a bu aussi. L’Envoyé d’Allah ﷺ a alors dit : “Vous avez bien agi, continuez ainsi.” C’est pour cela que nous faisons de même, nous ne voulons pas changer ce que l’Envoyé d’Allah ﷺ a dit. »

Bakr bin ‘Abd Allah said “A man said to Ibn ‘Abbas “What about the people of this House? They supply Nabidh to the public while their cousins provide milk, honey and mush (sawiq). Is this due to their niggardliness or need? Ibn ‘Abbas replied “This is due neither to our niggardliness nor to our need, but the Apostle of Allaah(ﷺ) (once) entered upon us on his riding beast and ‘Usamah bin Zaid was sitting behind him. The Apostle of Allaah(ﷺ) called for drink. Nabidh was brought to him and he drank from it and gave its left over to Usamah bin Zaid who drank from it. The Apostle of Allaah (ﷺ) then said “You have done a good and handsome deed and do it in a similar way . It is due to this we are doing so, we do not want to change what the Apostle of Allaah (ﷺ)had said
