Sunan Abi Dawud, 1463

Rapporté par Uqbah ibn Amir رضي الله عنه : Alors que je voyageais avec le Messager d’Allah ﷺ entre al-Juhfah et al-Abwa’, un vent et une grande obscurité nous ont enveloppés. Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ s’est alors mis à chercher refuge auprès d’Allah en récitant : « Je cherche protection auprès du Seigneur de l’aube » et « Je cherche protection auprès du Seigneur des hommes. » Puis il a dit : « Uqbah, utilise-les pour demander la protection d’Allah, car il n’y a rien de comparable à elles pour cela. » Uqbah a ajouté : « Je l’ai entendu les réciter lorsqu’il dirigeait la prière. »

Narrated Uqbah ibn Amir: White I was travelling with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) between al-Juhfah and al-Abwa', a wind and intense darkness enveloped us, whereupon the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) began to seek refuge in Allah, reciting: "I seek refuge in the Lord of the dawn," and "I seek refuge in the Lord of men." He then said: Uqbah, use them when seeking refuge in Allah, for no one can use anything to compare with them for the purpose. Uqbah added: I heard him reciting them when he led the people in prayer
