Sunan Abi Dawud, 1373

Rapporté par Aishah, épouse du Prophète ﷺ رضي الله عنها : Le Prophète ﷺ a un jour accompli la prière (tarawih) à la mosquée et les gens ont prié avec lui. La nuit suivante, il a prié et les gens sont venus plus nombreux. Ils se sont rassemblés aussi la troisième nuit, mais le Messager d’Allah ﷺ n’est pas sorti vers eux. Au matin, il a dit : « J’ai vu ce que vous avez fait, et rien ne m’a empêché de sortir vers vous si ce n’est que je craignais que cette prière ne vous soit rendue obligatoire. » Cela s’est passé pendant le Ramadan

Narrated 'Aishah, wife of Prophet (ﷺ):That the Prophet (ﷺ) once offered (tarawih) prayer in the mosque and the people also prayed along with him. He then prayed on the following night, and the people gathered in large numbers. They gathered on the third night too, but the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) did not come out to them. When the morning came, he said: I witnessed what you did, and nothing prevented me from coming out to you except that I feared that this (prayer) might be prescribed to you. That was in Ramadan
