Qur'anic teachings on patience

The Qur'an instructs believers to seek help through patience and prayer, promising that Allah is with the patient.¹ Believers are urged to advise one another to patience and compassion.²

Prophetic definition of true patience

The Prophet ﷺ said that real patience is shown at the first stroke of a calamity.³ When a grieving woman dismissed the Prophet, he reiterated that patience is at the first blow of a calamity.⁴
