Religious teachings and practices

When Aisha asked the Prophet whether women should join battles, he replied that the best jihad for women is the pilgrimage (Hajj) which is accepted by Allah.2 She reported the Prophet’s instruction that the congregation should follow the Imam’s actions, including sitting if he sits during prayer.3 She related the words the Prophet used when rising for night prayer, invoking Allah, Gabriel, Michael and Israfil as the Creator of the heavens and the earth.4

Historical incidents

Aisha narrated that after Fatima’s request for a share of the Prophet’s booty (fai), Abu Bakr told her the Prophet had said the property of prophets is not inheritable and is to be given as charity.1 She narrated the episode of the false accusation (the slander) against her, after which the Qur’an revealed verses of Surah an‑Nur concerning false charges.5
