Sunan an-Nasa'i, 5206

It was narrated from Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri:"A man came from Al-Bahrain to the Prophet [SAW] and greeted him with Salam, but he did not return his greeting. He was wearing a gold ring on his hand, and was wearing a silken Jubbah. He took them off, then he greeted him with Salam, and he returned his greeting. Then he said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I came to you just now, and you turned away from me.' He said: 'You had a coal of fire on your hand.' He said: 'Then I have brought many coals.' He said: 'What you have brought with you is no better for us than the stones of Al-Harrah, but it is a temporary convenience of this world.' He said: 'What should I use for a ring?' He said: 'A ring of iron or silver or brass

Rapporté par Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri : Un homme est venu du Bahreïn voir le Prophète ﷺ et l’a salué, mais il ne lui a pas rendu son salut. Cet homme portait une bague en or à la main et une tunique en soie. Il les a retirées, puis il a de nouveau salué le Prophète ﷺ, qui lui a alors répondu. L’homme a dit : "Ô Messager d’Allah, je suis venu te voir tout à l’heure et tu t’es détourné de moi." Il a répondu : "Tu avais un morceau de braise dans la main." L’homme a dit : "Alors, j’en ai apporté beaucoup." Le Prophète ﷺ a dit : "Ce que tu as apporté ne vaut pas mieux pour nous que les pierres d’Al-Harrah, c’est juste un avantage temporaire de ce monde." L’homme a demandé : "Avec quoi puis-je porter une bague ?" Il a répondu : "Avec du fer, de l’argent ou du laiton
