Sunan an-Nasa'i, 3353

It was narrated from 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Amr:"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whatever is given as a dowry, or gift or is promised her before the marriage belongs to her. Whatever is given after the marriage belongs to the one to whom it was given. And the most deserving for which a (man) is to be honored is (when marrying off) his daughter or sister.'" This is the wording of 'Abdullah (one of the narrators)

Rapporté par 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Amr : Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ a dit : « Tout ce qui est donné comme dot, cadeau ou promis à une femme avant le mariage lui appartient. Ce qui est donné après le mariage appartient à celui à qui cela a été donné. Et la personne qui mérite le plus d’être honorée, c’est celle qui marie sa fille ou sa sœur. » Ceci est la formulation de ‘Abdullah (l’un des rapporteurs)
