Sunan an-Nasa'i, 317

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abdur-Rahman bin Abza, from his father, that a man asked 'Umar bin Al-Khattab about Tayammum and he did not know what to say. 'Ammar said:"Do you remember when we were on a campaign, and I became Junub and rolled in the dust, then I came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and he said: 'This would have been sufficient.'" Rapporté par Ibn ‘Abdur-Rahman bin Abza, d’après son père : Un homme a interrogé ‘Umar bin Al-Khattab au sujet du Tayammum et il ne savait pas quoi répondre. ‘Ammar a dit : "Te souviens-tu quand nous étions en campagne, que je suis devenu en état de Janabah et me suis roulé dans la poussière, puis je suis allé voir le Prophète (ﷺ) et il a dit : 'Cela t’aurait suffi.'"
