Sunan an-Nasa'i, 3150

Salamah bin Al-Akwa' said:"On the day of Khaibar, my brother fought fiercely alongside the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), then his sword recoiled upon him and killed him. The Companions of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), complaining about that, said: 'A man has died by his own weapon.'" Salamah said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) returned from Khaibar and I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, do you permit me to recite some lines of Rajaz verse to you?' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) gave him permission but 'Umar bin Al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, said: "Think what you are saying." "I said: 'By Allah, if Allah had not guided us we would not have been guided We would not have given in charity nor prayed' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'You have spoken the truth.' (I continued:) 'Send down tranquility upon us, And make us steadfast when we meet the enemy. For the idolators have transgressed against us.' When I completed my Rajaz verse, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Who said that?' I said: 'My brother.' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'May Allah have mercy on him.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, some people are afraid to offer the (funeral) prayer for him, and they are saying that he is a man who died by his own weapon.' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'He died striving as a Mujahid.'" Ibn Shihab said: "Then I asked a son of Salamah bin Al-Akwa', and he narrated a similar report to me from his father, except that he said: 'When I said: Some people are afraid to offer the (funeral) prayer for him, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: They lied. He died striving as Mujahid, and he will have a twofold reward, and he gestured with two of his fingers

Rapporté par Salamah bin Al-Akwa’ : Le jour de Khaybar, mon frère a combattu vaillamment aux côtés du Messager d’Allah (ﷺ), puis son épée s’est retournée contre lui et l’a tué. Les compagnons du Messager d’Allah (ﷺ), se plaignant de cela, ont dit : « Un homme est mort par sa propre arme. » Salamah a dit : « Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) est revenu de Khaybar et j’ai dit : “Ô Messager d’Allah, me permets-tu de te réciter quelques vers de Rajaz ?” Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) lui a donné la permission, mais ‘Umar bin Al-Khattab, qu’Allah l’agrée, a dit : “Fais attention à ce que tu dis.” J’ai dit : ‘Par Allah, si Allah ne nous avait pas guidés, nous n’aurions pas été guidés. Nous n’aurions pas donné en aumône ni prié.’ Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a dit : “Tu as dit vrai.” (J’ai continué :) ‘Fais descendre sur nous la tranquillité, et rends-nous fermes face à l’ennemi. Car les idolâtres se sont montrés injustes envers nous.’ Quand j’ai terminé mes vers, le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a dit : “Qui a dit cela ?” J’ai dit : “Mon frère.” Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a dit : “Qu’Allah lui fasse miséricorde.” J’ai dit : “Ô Messager d’Allah, certains hésitent à faire la prière funéraire pour lui, disant qu’il est mort par sa propre arme.” Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a dit : “Il est mort en combattant comme un Mujahid.” Ibn Shihab a dit : “J’ai ensuite interrogé un fils de Salamah bin Al-Akwa’, et il m’a rapporté un récit similaire de son père, sauf qu’il a dit : ‘Quand j’ai dit : Certains hésitent à faire la prière funéraire pour lui, le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a dit : Ils ont menti. Il est mort en combattant comme un Mujahid, et il aura une double récompense’, et il a fait un geste avec deux doigts.”
