Sunan an-Nasa'i, 1887

It was narrated that Umm 'Atiyyah said:"The Messenger of Allah entered upon us while we were washing his daughter and said: 'Wash her three times, or five or more if you think (that is necessary), with water and lotus leaves, and put camphor, or some camphor in it the last time. And when you have finished, inform me.' When we finished, we informed him, and he threw his waist-wrap to us, and said: Shroud her in it

Rapporté par Umm 'Atiyyah : Le Messager d’Allah est entré chez nous pendant que nous lavions sa fille et a dit : « Lavez-la trois fois, ou cinq, ou plus si vous le jugez nécessaire, avec de l’eau et des feuilles de lotus, et mettez du camphre, ou un peu de camphre, la dernière fois. Quand vous aurez terminé, informez-moi. » Quand nous avons fini, nous l’avons informé, il nous a donné son pagne et a dit : « Enveloppez-la dedans. »
