Sunan an-Nasa'i, 1680

It was narrated that Al-Aswad bin Yazid said:"I asked 'Aishah about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). She said: 'He used to sleep during the first part of the night, then get up during the time before dawn and pray witr. Then he would go to his bed and if he needed to be intimate he would go to his wife. Then when he heard the Adhan he would get up, and if he was junub he would pour water over himself, otherwise he would perform wudu, then he would go out to the prayer

Rapporté par Al-Aswad bin Yazid : J’ai demandé à ‘Aishah comment le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) priait. Elle a dit : « Il dormait au début de la nuit, puis il se levait avant l’aube pour prier le witr. Ensuite, il retournait se coucher et, s’il avait besoin d’être intime, il allait voir sa femme. Quand il entendait l’Adhan, il se levait ; s’il était en état de grande impureté, il se lavait entièrement, sinon il faisait les ablutions, puis il sortait pour la prière. »
