Sunan an-Nasa'i, 1612

It was narrated from Ali bin Husain, from his father, that:Hs grandfather Ali bin Abi Talib said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came in to Fatimah and I, one night and woke us up to pray, then he went back to his house and prayed for part of the night, and he did not hear any movement from us. He came back to us and woke us up, and said: 'Get up and pray.' I sat up, rubbing my eyes, and said: 'By Allah, we will only pray that which has decreed for us; our souls are in the hand of Allah (SWT) and if He wants to make us get up, He will make us get up.' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) turned away, striking his hand on his thigh, saying: 'We will only pray that which Allah (SWT) has decreed for us! But man is ever more quarrelsome than anything

Rapporté par Ali bin Husain, de son père, que son grand-père Ali bin Abi Talib a dit : "Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) est venu chez Fatimah et moi une nuit et nous a réveillés pour prier, puis il est retourné chez lui et a prié une partie de la nuit. Comme il n’a entendu aucun mouvement de notre part, il est revenu nous réveiller et a dit : 'Levez-vous et priez.' Je me suis assis en me frottant les yeux et j’ai dit : 'Par Allah, nous ne prierons que ce qu’Il a décrété pour nous ; nos âmes sont entre les mains d’Allah (SWT) et s’Il veut nous réveiller, Il nous réveillera.' Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) s’est détourné, frappant sa main sur sa cuisse, en disant : 'Nous ne prierons que ce qu’Allah (SWT) a décrété pour nous ! Mais l’homme est toujours plus contestataire que tout
