Sahih Muslim, 756

A'isha, the wife of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) reported:Umm Habiba b. Jahsh who was the sister-in-law of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and the wife of 'Abd al-Rahman b. Auf, remained mustahada for seven years, and she, therefore, asked for the verdict of Shari'ah from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) about it The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: This is not menstruation, but (blood from) a vein: so bathe yourself and offer prayer. 'A'isha said: She took a bath in the wash-tub placed in the apartment of her sister Zainab b. Jahsh, till the redness of the blood came over the water. Ibn Shihab said: I narrated it to Abu Bakr b. 'Abd al-Rahman b. al-Harith b. Hisham about it who observed: May Allah have mercy on Hinda! would that she listened to this verdict. By Lord, she wept for not offering prayer

Rapporté par Aïsha, l’épouse du Messager d’Allah ﷺ رضي الله عنها : Umm Habiba bint Jahsh, qui était la belle-sœur du Messager d’Allah ﷺ et l’épouse de ‘Abd al-Rahman b. Auf, a eu des saignements hors menstruation pendant sept ans. Elle a donc demandé un avis religieux au Messager d’Allah ﷺ à ce sujet. Le Prophète ﷺ a dit : « Ce n’est pas la menstruation, mais du sang provenant d’une veine. Prends un bain et fais la prière. » Aïsha a dit : Elle se lavait dans la bassine qui se trouvait dans la chambre de sa sœur Zaynab bint Jahsh, jusqu’à ce que la couleur du sang teigne l’eau. Ibn Shihab a dit : J’ai raconté cela à Abu Bakr b. ‘Abd al-Rahman b. al-Harith b. Hisham, qui a dit : « Qu’Allah fasse miséricorde à Hinda ! Si seulement elle avait entendu ce jugement. Par Allah, elle pleurait de ne pas pouvoir prier. »
