Sahih Muslim, 705

Abdullah b. Abu'l-Qais reported:I asked 'A'isha about the Witr (prayer) of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and made mention of a hadith, then I said: What did he do after having sexual intercourse? Did he take a bath before going to sleep or did he sleep before taking a bath? She said: He did all these. Some- times he took a bath and then slept, and sometimes he performed ablution only and went to sleep. I (the narrator) said: Praise be to Allah Who has made things easy (for human beings)

Rapporté par Abdullah ibn Abu’l-Qais رضي الله عنه : J’ai interrogé Aïcha رضي الله عنها sur la prière du Witr du Messager d’Allah ﷺ et j’ai mentionné un hadith, puis j’ai demandé : « Que faisait-il après un rapport intime ? Prenait-il un bain avant de dormir ou dormait-il avant de se laver ? » Elle a répondu : « Il faisait les deux. Parfois il prenait un bain puis dormait, et parfois il se contentait de faire les ablutions et allait dormir. » J’ai dit : « Louange à Allah qui a facilité les choses aux gens. »
