Sahih Muslim, 7004

Ibn Mas'ud reported that a person came to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and told him that he had kissed a woman or touched her with his hand or did something like this. He inquired of him about its expiation. It was (on this occasion) that Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, revealed this verse (as mentioned above)

Rapporté par Ibn Mas'ud رضي الله عنه : Un homme vint voir le Messager d’Allah ﷺ et lui dit qu’il avait embrassé une femme, ou l’avait touchée de la main, ou avait fait quelque chose de semblable. Il lui demanda comment se faire pardonner. C’est alors qu’Allah, le Très-Haut, fit descendre ce verset (mentionné précédemment)
