Sahih Muslim, 6978

Umar b. Khattab reported that there were brought some prisoners to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) amongst whom there was also a woman, who was searching (for someone) and when she found a child amongst the prisoners, she took hold of it, pressed it against her chest and provided it suck. Thereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said:Do you think this woman would ever afford to throw her child in the Fire? We said: By Allah, so far as it lies in her power, she would never throw the child in Fire. ' Thereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: Allah is more kind to His servants than this woman is to her child

Rapporté par Omar ibn al-Khattab رضي الله عنه alors qu'il donnait un sermon : On amena des prisonniers au Messager d’Allah ﷺ, parmi lesquels se trouvait une femme qui cherchait quelqu’un. Lorsqu’elle trouva un enfant parmi les prisonniers, elle le prit, le serra contre sa poitrine et l’allaita. Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ dit alors : « Pensez-vous que cette femme pourrait jeter son enfant dans le Feu ? » Nous avons répondu : « Par Allah, tant qu’elle en aura le pouvoir, elle ne le jettera jamais dans le Feu. » Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ dit alors : « Allah est plus miséricordieux envers Ses serviteurs que cette femme ne l’est envers son enfant. »
