The Book of the Merits of the Companions
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو، وَابْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، سَمِعَا جَابِرًا، يُخْبِرُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ح وَحَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، - وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ - حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، وَعَمْرٍو، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَرَأَيْتُ فِيهَا دَارًا أَوْ قَصْرًا فَقُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا فَقَالُوا لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ . فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَدْخُلَ . فَذَكَرْتُ غَيْرَتَكَ " . فَبَكَى عُمَرُ وَقَالَ أَىْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَوَعَلَيْكَ يُغَارُ
Jabir reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:I entered Paradise and saw in it a house or a palace. I said: For whom is it resersred? They (the Angels) said: It is for 'Umar b. Khattab. (The Prophet said to 'Umar b. Khattab): I intenied to get into it but I thought of your feelings. Thereupon 'Umar wept and said: Apostle of Allah, could I feel any jealousy in your case?Rapporté par Jabir رضي الله عنه : Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ a dit : « Je suis entré au Paradis et j’y ai vu une maison ou un palais. J’ai demandé : “Pour qui est-il réservé ?” Ils (les Anges) ont répondu : “C’est pour Umar ibn Khattab.” (Le Prophète a dit à Umar ibn Khattab) : “J’ai voulu y entrer mais j’ai pensé à tes sentiments.” Alors Umar s’est mis à pleurer et a dit : “Ô Messager d’Allah, pourrais-je ressentir de la jalousie envers toi ?” »Grades given by scholars
