Sahih Muslim, 6172

Abdullah b. Mas'ud reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:If I were to choose a bosom friend I would have definitely chosen Abu Bakr as my bosom friend, but he is my brother and my companion and Allah, the Exalted and Gliorious. has taken your brother and companion (meaning Prophet himself) as a friend

Rapporté par Abdullah ibn Mas'ud رضي الله عنه : Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ a dit : « Si je devais choisir un ami intime, j’aurais certainement choisi Abu Bakr comme ami intime, mais il est mon frère et mon compagnon, et Allah, le Très-Haut et Glorieux, a pris votre frère et compagnon (c’est-à-dire le Prophète lui-même) comme ami. »
