Sahih Muslim, 5769

A'isha the wife of Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) said:When there was any bereavement in her family the women gathered there for condolence and they departed except the members of the family and some selected persons. She asked to prepare talbina in a small couldron and it was cooked and then tharid was prepared and it was poured over talbina, then she said: Eat it, for I heard Allah's Messenger (may peade be upon him) as saying: Talbina gives comfort to the aggrieved heart and it lessens grief

Rapporté par Aïcha, l’épouse du Messager d’Allah ﷺ رضي الله عنها : Lorsqu’il y avait un deuil dans sa famille, les femmes venaient présenter leurs condoléances, puis repartaient, sauf les membres de la famille et quelques proches. Elle demandait qu’on prépare du talbina dans un petit chaudron, puis on préparait du tharid qu’on versait sur le talbina. Ensuite, elle disait : « Mangez-en, car j’ai entendu le Messager d’Allah ﷺ dire : “Le talbina apaise le cœur affligé et diminue la tristesse.” »
