Sahih Muslim, 4926

It has been narrated on the authority of Abdullah b. Amr (through a different chain of transmitters) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:A troop of soldiers, large or small, who fight (in the way of Allah), get their share of the booty and return safe and sound, receive in advance two-thirds of their reward (only one-third remaining to their credit to be received in the Hereafter) ; and a troop of soldiers, large or small, who return empty-handed and are afflicted or wounded, will receive their full reward (in the Hereafter)

Rapporté par ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr رضي الله عنه (par une autre chaîne de rapporteurs) : Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ a dit : « Un groupe de soldats, nombreux ou peu nombreux, qui combattent dans le chemin d’Allah, reçoivent leur part du butin et reviennent sains et saufs, obtiennent d’avance les deux tiers de leur récompense (il ne leur restera qu’un tiers à recevoir dans l’au-delà). Mais un groupe de soldats, nombreux ou peu nombreux, qui reviennent les mains vides et blessés ou éprouvés, recevront leur récompense complète dans l’au-delà. »
