Sahih Muslim, 4739

It has been reported on the authority of Abu Humaid as-Sa'idi who said:The Prophet (ﷺ) appointed Ibn Lutbiyya, a man from the Azd tribe, in charge of Sadaqa (authorising him to receive gifts from the people on behalf of the State). He came with the collection, gave it to the Prophet (ﷺ), and said: This wealth is for you and this is a gift presented to me. The Prophet (ﷺ) said to him: Why didn't you remain in the house of your father and your mother to see whether gifts were presented to you or not. Then he stood up to deliver a sermon. Rapporté par Abu Humaid as-Sa’idi : Le Prophète ﷺ a nommé Ibn Lutbiyya, un homme de la tribu d’Azd, responsable de la Sadaqa (autorisé à recevoir les dons pour l’État). Il est revenu avec la collecte, l’a remise au Prophète ﷺ et a dit : « Cette richesse est pour vous et ceci est un cadeau qu’on m’a offert. » Le Prophète ﷺ lui a dit : « Pourquoi n’es-tu pas resté dans la maison de ton père et de ta mère pour voir si on t’aurait offert des cadeaux ou non ? » Puis il s’est levé pour faire un sermon. Voici le récit semblable à celui de Sufyan
