Sahih Muslim, 3958

Tawus reported that he let out his land on rent, whereupon Amr said:I said to him: Abu Abd al-Rahrman, I wish if you abandon this renting of land, for they alleged that Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) forbade Mukhabara. He siad: Amr, one who has informed me has the best knowledge of it among them (he meant Ibn Abbas). (He said) that Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) did not prohibit it altogether, but said: Lending of land by one among you to his brother is better for him than getting a specified amount of produce from it

Rapporté par Tawus : Tawus a raconté qu’il avait loué sa terre, et Amr lui a dit : « Abu Abd al-Rahman, j’aimerais que tu abandonnes cette pratique de location de terre, car certains disent que le Messager d’Allah ﷺ a interdit la Mukhabara. » Il a répondu : « Amr, celui qui m’a informé en sait plus que les autres à ce sujet (il voulait parler d’Ibn Abbas). Il a dit que le Messager d’Allah ﷺ ne l’a pas totalement interdit, mais a dit : “Prêter sa terre à son frère est meilleur que d’en recevoir une part déterminée de la récolte.” »
