Sahih Muslim, 3768

Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him) reported:A desert Arab came to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and said: My wife has given birth to a dark-complexioned child and I have disowned him. Thereupon Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) said: Have you any camels? He said: Yes. He said: What is their colour? He said? They are red. He said: Is there anyone dusky among them? He said: Yes. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: How has it come about? He said: Messenger of Allah, it is perhaps due to the strain to which it has reverted, whereupon the Prophet (ﷺ) said: It (the birth) of the black child may be due to the strain to which he (the child) might have reverted

Rapporté par Abu Huraira رضي الله عنه : Un bédouin est venu voir le Messager d’Allah ﷺ et a dit : « Ma femme a donné naissance à un enfant à la peau foncée et je l’ai renié. » Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ a demandé : « As-tu des chameaux ? » Il a répondu : « Oui. » Il a demandé : « De quelle couleur sont-ils ? » Il a répondu : « Ils sont rouges. » Il a demandé : « Y en a-t-il un foncé parmi eux ? » Il a répondu : « Oui. » Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ a demandé : « Comment cela se fait-il ? » Il a répondu : « Ô Messager d’Allah, c’est peut-être un ancêtre. » Le Prophète ﷺ a dit : « La naissance de cet enfant à la peau foncée peut aussi venir d’un ancêtre. »
