Sahih Muslim, 254

It was heard from Abu 'Amr Shaibani that, pointing towards the house of Abdullah, he said:The owner of this house told me that he asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ): Which of the deeds are liked by Allah? He (the Holy Prophet) observed: Prayer at its proper time. I (again) said: What next? He replied: Then goodness to the parents. I (again) said: What then? He replied: Then Jihad in the cause of Allah. He ('Abdullah) said: This is what I was told (by the Holy Prophet). Had I questioned further, he would have made additions for me

Rapporté par Abu ‘Amr Shaibani رضي الله عنه : En désignant la maison d’Abdullah, il a dit : « Le propriétaire de cette maison m’a dit qu’il a demandé au Messager d’Allah ﷺ : “Quelle action Allah aime-t-Il le plus ?” Le Prophète ﷺ a répondu : “La prière à son heure.” J’ai dit : “Et ensuite ?” Il a répondu : “La bonté envers les parents.” J’ai dit : “Et ensuite ?” Il a répondu : “Le jihad dans le chemin d’Allah.” Abdullah a dit : “Voilà ce que le Prophète m’a dit. Si j’avais posé plus de questions, il m’aurait donné d’autres réponses.” »
