Sahih Muslim, 2200

Anas b. Malik reported:There passed a bier (being carried by people) and it was lauded in good terms. Upon this the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: It has become certain, it has become certain, it has become certain. And there passed a bier and it was condemned in bad words. Upon this the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: It has become certain, it has become certain, it has become certain. 'Umar said: May my father and mother be ransom for you! There passed a bier and it was praised in good terms, and you said: It has become certain, it has become certain, it has become certain. And there passed a bier and it was condemned in bad words, and you said: It has become certain, it has become certain, it has become certain. Upon this the Messenger of Allah (way peace be upon him) said: He whom you praised in good terms, Paradise has become certain for him, and he whom you condemned in bad words, Hell has become certain for him. You are Allah's witnesses in the earth, you are Allah's witnesses in the earth, you are Allah's witnesses in the earth

Rapporté par Anas b. Malik رضي الله عنه : Un cortège funéraire passa et il fut loué en de bons termes. Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ dit alors : « C’est confirmé, c’est confirmé, c’est confirmé. » Un autre cortège passa et il fut critiqué en de mauvais termes. Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ dit : « C’est confirmé, c’est confirmé, c’est confirmé. » ‘Umar demanda : « Que mes parents te soient sacrifiés ! Un cortège est passé, il a été loué, et tu as dit : “C’est confirmé, c’est confirmé, c’est confirmé.” Un autre cortège est passé, il a été critiqué, et tu as dit : “C’est confirmé, c’est confirmé, c’est confirmé.” » Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ répondit : « Celui que vous avez loué, le Paradis lui est assuré ; celui que vous avez critiqué, l’Enfer lui est assuré. Vous êtes les témoins d’Allah sur terre, vous êtes les témoins d’Allah sur terre, vous êtes les témoins d’Allah sur terre. »
