Sahih Muslim, 1445

A'isha reported:The Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) one night delayed (observing the 'Isya' prayer) till a great part of the night was over and the people in the mosque had gone to sleep. He (the Holy Prophet) then came out and observed prayer and said: This is the proper time for it; were it not that I would impose a burden on my people (I would normally pray at this time). In the hadith transmitters by 'Abd al-Razzaq (the words are):" Were it not that it would impose burden on my people

Rapporté par Aïcha رضي الله عنها : Une nuit, le Messager d’Allah ﷺ a retardé la prière du Isha jusqu’à ce qu’une grande partie de la nuit soit passée et que les gens dans la mosquée se soient endormis. Il est alors sorti, a accompli la prière et a dit : « C’est le moment idéal pour cette prière ; si cela ne représentait pas une difficulté pour ma communauté, je la ferais toujours à cette heure. » Dans la version transmise par Abd al-Razzaq, il est dit : « Si cela ne représentait pas une charge pour ma communauté. »
