Sahih Muslim, 1367

Abu Salama son of Abd al-Rahman b. Auf reported Abu Huraira as saying:Iqama was pronounced and we stood up and made rows straight till he (the Holy Prophet) stood at his place of worship (the place ahead of the rows where he stood to lead the prayer) before takbir tahrima. He reminded to (himself something) and went back saying that we should stand at our places and not leave them. We waited, till he came back to us and he had taken a bath and water trickled out of his head and then led us in prayer

Rapporté par Abu Salama, fils de Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf, d’après Abu Huraira : L’Iqama a été prononcé et nous nous sommes levés et avons aligné les rangs jusqu’à ce que le Prophète ﷺ se tienne à sa place de prière, devant les rangs, avant le takbir d’entrée. Il se rappela quelque chose, retourna en disant que nous devions rester à nos places et ne pas les quitter. Nous avons attendu, puis il revint vers nous après avoir pris un bain, l’eau coulant de sa tête, et il nous dirigea dans la prière
