Muwatta Malik, 268

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abu Bakr ibn Umar that Said ibn Yasar said, ''I was travelling with Abdullah ibn Umar on the road to Makka, and fearing that it was nearly dawn. I dismounted and prayed witr. Abdullah said, 'Is there not a model for you in the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace?' I said, 'Of course, by Allah!' He said, 'The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to pray witr on his camel

Sa'id Ibn Yassar a rapporté: «J'étais avec Abdallah Ibn Omar, en marche vers la Mecque. Comme je craignis d'être surpris par la prière de l'aurore, je descendis (de ma monture) et je fis une raka't impaire, puis je le rejoignis.Il me demanda: «où étais-tu»? Je lui répondis: «comme je craignis d'être surpris par la prière de l'aurore, je descendis et fis une raka't impaire». Abdallah répliqua: «N'as-tu pas eu en l'Envoyé d'Allah (salallahou alayhi wa salam) (Sur lui la grâce et la paix d'Allah), un exemple»? «Certes oui, dis-je». Il reprit: «L'Envoyé d'Allah (salallahou alayhi wa salam) r (Sur lui la grâce et la paix d'Allah) faisait (parfois) la raka't impaire tout en étant sur son chameau»
