Muwatta Malik, 1447

Malik related to me from Ayyub ibn Musa from Muawiya ibn Abdullah ibn Badr al-Juhani that his father informed him that he stopped with a people on the way to Syria and he found a purse which had eighty dinars in it. He mentioned that to Umar ibn al-Khattab. Umar said to him, "Announce it at the doors of the mosques and mention it to everyone who comes from Syria for a year. Mou'awia Ibn Abdallah Ibn Badr Al-Jouhani a rapporté que son père lui a raconté, qu'en route pour le Châm (la Syrie),il s'arreta chez des gens et il trouva une bourse contenant quatre vingt dinars. Le racontant à Omar Ibn Al-Khattab, il lui dit: «Annonce ; cette trouvaille dans les mosquées, et à toute personne qui arrive du Châm (Damas), pour un an; si déjà cette durée s'est écoulée, elle te reviendra»
