Sunan Ibn Majah, 4110

It was narrated that Sahl bin Sa’d said:“We were with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) in Dhul-Hulaifah, when we saw a dead sheep lifting its leg (because of bloating). He said: ‘Don’t you think this is worthless to its owner? By the One in Whose hand is my soul, this world is more worthless to Allah than this (dead sheep) is to its owner. If this world was worth the wing of a mosquito to Allah, the disbeliever would not have a drop to drink from it.’”

Rapporté par Sahl bin Sa’d : Nous étions avec le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) à Dhul-Hulaifah, quand nous avons vu une brebis morte qui levait la patte (à cause du gonflement). Il a dit : « Ne pensez-vous pas que cela ne vaut rien pour son propriétaire ? Par Celui qui tient mon âme dans Sa main, ce monde est plus insignifiant aux yeux d’Allah que cette brebis morte ne l’est pour son propriétaire. Si ce monde valait ne serait-ce que l’aile d’un moustique pour Allah, le mécréant n’y aurait même pas une goutte à boire. »
