Sunan Ibn Majah, 3236

It was narrated that Ibn Abu ‘Ammar, who is ‘Abdur-Rahman, said:“I asked Jabir bin ‘Abdullah about hyenas: ‘Are they game (that can be hunted)?’ He said: ‘Yes.’ I said: ‘Can I eat them?’ He said: ‘Yes.’ I said: ‘Is this something that you heard from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)?’ He said: ‘Yes.’”

Rapporté par Ibn Abu ‘Ammar, qui est ‘Abdur-Rahman : J’ai demandé à Jabir bin ‘Abdullah au sujet des hyènes : “Est-ce que ce sont des animaux que l’on peut chasser ?” Il a dit : “Oui.” J’ai dit : “Puis-je en manger ?” Il a dit : “Oui.” J’ai dit : “Est-ce quelque chose que tu as entendu du Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ?” Il a dit : “Oui.”
