Sunan Ibn Majah, 1396

It was narrated from ‘Asim bin Sufyan Thaqafi that they went on the campaign of Salasil, but no battle took place; they only took up their positions. Then they came back to Mu’awiyah, and Abu Ayyub and ‘Uqbah bin ‘Amir were with him. ‘Asim said:“O Abu Ayyub, we have missed out on Jihad this year, and we were told that whoever prays in the four mosques will be forgiven his sins.” He said: “O son of my brother, shall I not tell you of something easier than that? I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: ‘Whoever performs ablution as he has been commanded, and prays as he has been commanded, will be forgiven his previous (bad) deeds.’” He said: “(Did he not say it) like that, O ‘Uqbah?” He said: “Yes.”

Rapporté par ‘Asim bin Sufyan Thaqafi : Ils ont participé à la campagne de Salasil, mais il n’y a pas eu de combat ; ils se sont seulement positionnés. Ensuite, ils sont revenus vers Mu’awiyah, et Abu Ayyub et ‘Uqbah bin ‘Amir étaient avec lui. ‘Asim a dit : « Ô Abu Ayyub, nous avons manqué le Jihad cette année, et on nous a dit que celui qui prie dans les quatre mosquées aura ses péchés pardonnés. » Il a répondu : « Ô mon neveu, veux-tu que je te dise quelque chose de plus facile ? J’ai entendu le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) dire : “Celui qui fait ses ablutions comme il lui a été ordonné, et prie comme il lui a été ordonné, verra ses mauvaises actions passées pardonnées.” » Il a demandé : « (N’a-t-il pas dit cela) ainsi, ô ‘Uqbah ? » Il a répondu : « Oui. »
