Sunan Ibn Majah, 1022

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saw some sputum in the direction of the Qiblah of the mosque. He turned to the people and said:“What is wrong with one of you that he stands facing Him (meaning his Lord) and spits in front of Him? Would anyone like to be faced by someone who spits in his face? If anyone of you needs to spit, then let him spit to his left, or let him do like this in his garment.” Then Ismail (Abu Bakr bin Abu Shuaibah) showed me how he spat in his garment then rubbed it

Rapporté par Abu Hurairah : Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a vu des crachats en direction de la Qiblah dans la mosquée. Il s’est tourné vers les gens et a dit : « Qu’est-ce qui ne va pas avec l’un de vous pour qu’il se tienne face à Lui (c’est-à-dire son Seigneur) et crache devant Lui ? Est-ce que l’un de vous aimerait qu’on lui crache au visage ? Si l’un de vous doit cracher, qu’il crache à sa gauche, ou qu’il fasse comme ceci dans son vêtement. » Puis Ismail (Abu Bakr bin Abu Shuaibah) m’a montré comment il crachait dans son vêtement puis le frottait
