Narrated `Aisha:Some people asked the Prophet (ﷺ) regarding the soothsayers. He said, "They are nothing." They said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Some of their talks come true." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "That word which happens to be true is what a Jinn snatches away by stealth (from the Heaven) and pours it in the ears of his friend (the foreteller) with a sound like the cackling of a hen. Rapporté par `Aisha : Des gens ont interrogé le Prophète (ﷺ) au sujet des devins. Il a répondu : « Ils ne sont rien. » Ils ont dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ! Certaines de leurs paroles se réalisent. » Le Prophète (ﷺ) a dit : « Ce mot qui s’avère vrai est ce qu’un djinn a volé au Ciel et qu’il souffle à l’oreille de son ami (le devin) avec un bruit semblable au caquètement d’une poule. Les devins y ajoutent ensuite cent mensonges. »
