Sahih al-Bukhari, 6861

Narrated `Abdullah:A man said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Which sin is the greatest in Allah's Sight?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "To set up a rival unto Allah though He Alone created you . " The man said, "What is next?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "To kill your son lest he should share your food with you." The man said, "What is next?" The Prophet said, "To commit illegal sexual intercourse with the wife of your neighbor." So Allah revealed in confirmation of this narration:-- 'And those who invoke not with Allah, any other god. Nor kill, such life as Allah has forbidden except for just cause nor commit illegal sexual intercourse. And whoever does this shall receive the punishment

Rapporté par `Abdullah : Un homme a dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ! Quel est le plus grand péché aux yeux d’Allah ? » Le Prophète (ﷺ) a dit : « Associer à Allah un rival alors que c’est Lui seul qui t’a créé. » L’homme a demandé : « Et ensuite ? » Le Prophète (ﷺ) a dit : « Tuer ton enfant par crainte qu’il partage ta nourriture avec toi. » L’homme a demandé : « Et ensuite ? » Le Prophète a dit : « Avoir une relation interdite avec la femme de ton voisin. » Alors Allah a révélé pour confirmer ce récit : « Et ceux qui n’invoquent pas avec Allah une autre divinité, ne tuent pas la vie qu’Allah a rendue sacrée sauf pour une juste raison, et ne commettent pas de relation interdite. Et quiconque fait cela subira la punition. »
