Sahih al-Bukhari, 6829

Narrated Ibn `Abbas:`Umar said, "I am afraid that after a long time has passed, people may say, "We do not find the Verses of the Rajam (stoning to death) in the Holy Book," and consequently they may go astray by leaving an obligation that Allah has revealed. Lo! I confirm that the penalty of Rajam be inflicted on him who commits illegal sexual intercourse, if he is already married and the crime is proved by witnesses or pregnancy or confession." Sufyan added, "I have memorized this narration in this way." `Umar added, "Surely Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) carried out the penalty of Rajam, and so did we after him

Rapporté par Ibn `Abbas : `Umar a dit : « J’ai peur qu’avec le temps, des gens disent : “Nous ne trouvons pas les versets du Rajam (lapidation à mort) dans le Livre Saint”, et qu’ensuite ils s’égarent en abandonnant une obligation qu’Allah a révélée. Sachez que je confirme que la peine du Rajam doit être appliquée à celui qui commet un rapport sexuel interdit, s’il est déjà marié et que le crime est prouvé par des témoins, une grossesse ou un aveu. » Soufyan a ajouté : « J’ai retenu ce récit de cette façon. » `Umar a ajouté : « En effet, le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a appliqué la peine du Rajam, et nous l’avons fait aussi après lui. »
