Sahih al-Bukhari, 6638

Narrated Abu Dhar:I reached him (the Prophet (ﷺ) ) while in the shade of the Ka`ba; he was saying, "They are the losers, by the Lord of the Ka`ba! They are the losers, by the Lord of the Ka`ba!" I said (to myself ), "What is wrong with me? Is anything improper detected in me? What is wrong with me? Then I sat beside him and he kept on saying his statement. I could not remain quiet, and Allah knows in what sorrowful state I was at that time. So I said, ' Who are they (the losers)? Let My father and mother be sacrificed for you, O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)!" He said, "They are the wealthy people, except the one who does like this and like this and like this (i.e., spends of his wealth in Allah's Cause)

Rapporté par Abu Dhar : Je l’ai trouvé (le Prophète (ﷺ)) à l’ombre de la Ka`ba ; il disait : « Ce sont eux les perdants, par le Seigneur de la Ka`ba ! Ce sont eux les perdants, par le Seigneur de la Ka`ba ! » Je me suis dit : « Qu’est-ce qui ne va pas chez moi ? A-t-on remarqué quelque chose d’inapproprié chez moi ? » Puis je me suis assis près de lui et il a continué à répéter cette phrase. Je ne pouvais plus rester silencieux, et Allah sait dans quel état de tristesse j’étais à ce moment-là. Alors j’ai dit : « Qui sont-ils (les perdants) ? Que mon père et ma mère te soient sacrifiés, ô Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ! » Il a répondu : « Ce sont les riches, sauf celui qui fait comme ceci, comme ceci et comme ceci (c’est-à-dire qui dépense sa richesse dans la voie d’Allah). »
