Sahih al-Bukhari, 6173

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Umar:`Umar bin Al-Khattab set out with Allah's Messenger (ﷺ), and a group of his companions to Ibn Saiyad. They found him playing with the boys in the fort or near the Hillocks of Bani Maghala. Ibn Saiyad was nearing his puberty at that time, and he did not notice the arrival of the Prophet (ﷺ) till Allah's Apostle stroked him on the back with his hand and said, "Do you testify that I am Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)?" Ibn Saiyad looked at him and said, "I testify that you are the Apostle of the unlettered ones (illiterates)". Then Ibn Saiyad said to the Prophets . "Do you testify that I am Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)?" The Prophet denied that, saying, "I believe in Allah and all His Apostles," and then said to Ibn Saiyad, "What do you see?" Ibn Saiyad said, "True people and liars visit me." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "You have been confused as to this matter." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) added, "I have kept something for you (in my mind)." Ibn Saiyad said, "Ad-Dukh." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Ikhsa (you should be ashamed) for you can not cross your limits." `Umar said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Allow me to chop off h is neck." Allah's Apostle said (to `Umar). "Should this person be him (i.e. Ad-Dajjal) then you cannot over-power him; and should he be someone else, then it will be no use your killing him." `Abdullah bin `Umar added: Later on Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and Ubai bin Ka`b Al-Ansari (once again) went to the garden in which Ibn Saiyad was present. When Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) entered the garden, he started hiding behind the trunks of the date-palms intending to hear something from Ibn Saiyad before the latter could see him. Ibn Saiyad was Lying on his bed, covered with a velvet sheet from where his mumur were heard. Ibn Saiyad's mother saw the Prophet and said, "O Saf (the nickname of Ibn Saiyad)! Here is Muhammad!" Ibn Saiyad stopped his murmuring. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "If his mother had kept quiet, then I would have learnt more about him." `Abdullah added: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) stood up before the people (delivering a sermon), and after praising and glorifying Allah as He deserved, he mentioned the Ad-Dajjal saying, "I warn you against him, and there has been no prophet but warned his followers against him. Noah warned his followers against him but I am telling you about him, something which no prophet has told his people of, and that is: Know that he is blind in one eye where as Allah is not so

Rapporté par `Abdullah bin `Umar : `Umar bin Al-Khattab est parti avec le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) et un groupe de ses compagnons vers Ibn Saiyad. Ils l’ont trouvé en train de jouer avec des garçons dans la forteresse ou près des collines de Bani Maghala. Ibn Saiyad était presque pubère à ce moment-là et il n’a pas remarqué l’arrivée du Prophète (ﷺ) jusqu’à ce que le Messager d’Allah lui touche le dos de la main et lui dise : « Témoignes-tu que je suis le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ? » Ibn Saiyad l’a regardé et a dit : « Je témoigne que tu es le Messager des illettrés. » Puis Ibn Saiyad a dit au Prophète : « Témoignes-tu que je suis le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ? » Le Prophète a refusé, disant : « Je crois en Allah et en tous Ses Messagers. » Puis il a demandé à Ibn Saiyad : « Que vois-tu ? » Ibn Saiyad a répondu : « Des gens sincères et des menteurs viennent me voir. » Le Prophète (ﷺ) a dit : « Tu es confus à ce sujet. » Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a ajouté : « J’ai gardé quelque chose pour toi (dans mon esprit). » Ibn Saiyad a dit : « Ad-Dukh. » Le Prophète (ﷺ) a dit : « Ikhsa (tu devrais avoir honte), car tu ne peux pas dépasser tes limites. » `Umar a dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ! Permets-moi de lui trancher le cou. » Le Messager d’Allah a répondu (à `Umar) : « Si cette personne est lui (c’est-à-dire Ad-Dajjal), alors tu ne pourras pas le vaincre ; et si c’est quelqu’un d’autre, cela ne servirait à rien de le tuer. » `Abdullah bin `Umar a ajouté : Plus tard, le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) et Ubai bin Ka`b Al-Ansari sont allés de nouveau dans le jardin où se trouvait Ibn Saiyad. Quand le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) est entré dans le jardin, il s’est caché derrière les troncs des palmiers pour essayer d’entendre quelque chose d’Ibn Saiyad avant que ce dernier ne le voie. Ibn Saiyad était allongé sur son lit, couvert d’une couverture en velours, et on entendait ses murmures. La mère d’Ibn Saiyad a vu le Prophète et a dit : « Ô Saf (le surnom d’Ibn Saiyad) ! Voici Muhammad ! » Ibn Saiyad a arrêté de murmurer. Le Prophète (ﷺ) a dit : « Si sa mère était restée silencieuse, j’en aurais appris plus sur lui. » `Abdullah a ajouté : Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) s’est levé devant les gens (pour faire un sermon), et après avoir loué et glorifié Allah comme Il le mérite, il a parlé d’Ad-Dajjal en disant : « Je vous mets en garde contre lui, et il n’y a pas eu de prophète qui n’ait pas mis en garde sa communauté contre lui. Noé a mis en garde son peuple contre lui, mais je vais vous dire à son sujet quelque chose qu’aucun prophète n’a dit à son peuple, à savoir : Sachez qu’il est borgne, alors qu’Allah ne l’est pas. »
